Congressman’s office will replace the music with more patriotic music
[Washington D.C., July 28, 2016] – Since receiving The O’Jays, request to pull down their song “For the Love of Money”, the YouTube video made to highlight a successful government project has been viewed more than 4,500 times. Before bringing attention to the video the number of views was only in the hundreds. U.S. Representative John Mica is working to honor the band’s request to remove the melody that was used as background music in a 2014 video highlighting Mica and Trump’s work to turn a money-losing federal building into a revenue producer for taxpayers. The tune, which is also theme song to The Apprentice TV show, will be replaced with more patriotic music.
Congressman Mica said, “The message of the video remains clear with or without the music. I’m glad people are viewing the video.” Mica continued, “I encourage everyone to take a minute to watch and see how good policy can turn multimillion dollar government losses into revenue for Americans and put thousands to work.” Mica, in 2011 and 2012 conducted two hearings in the partially vacant Old Post Office building, located 2 blocks from the White House, which was losing millions of dollars every year.
After a national competition, the Trump Organization won the rights to develop the property. According to GSA the Trump project is ahead of schedule, under budget and will begin operations later this year. The video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFOhCfEH2y4. The edited video will be posted on Congressman John L. Mica’s YouTube channel as soon as it’s available.
