Two major conservative groups recently recognized Rep. John Mica for his outstanding voting record.   

The American Conservative Union rated Rep. Mica for Congress as a “Defender of Liberty” in their most recent rating, published in 2010.  The ACU scored his voting record as 100% based on 25 key votes cast in 2009.  Rep. Mica also received a 100% in the ACU’s two previous surveys for votes cast in 2008 and 2007.

The ACU survey is considered the definitive conservative rating and is listed in all the major political almanacs and reference guides.  More information available at: www.conservative.org.  

The Club For Growth named Rep. Mica a “Defender of Economic Freedom” in their congressional rating for the previous Congress.  The Club For Growth awards this distinction to Members of Congress who scored 90 or higher on their score card.  In naming Rep. Mica, the Club For Growth said:  “Your dedication to the protection of economic liberty and your advocacy of limited government, lower taxes, and the reduction of wasteful government spending are inspiring….and truly qualify you as a staunch defender of economic freedom.”  More information is available at www.clubforgrowth.org .
