Voulsia Honor Air Flight of World War II Veterans visit Washington D.C.

Congressman Mica, along with his wife, hosted the Volusia Honor Air Flight of World War II Veterans on their visit to Washington D.C.. Events included a full orchestra greeting at Ronald Reagan National Airport, a visit to the World War II Memorial where the veterans were met by former Senator Bob Dole. Congressman Mica then hosted a luncheon where the group was addressed by the Deptuty Secretary of Defense, Gordon England. The group then traveled to Arlington National Cemetery where Congressman Mica and Volusia County Veterans participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Thank you to the more than 10,000 people who sent in their petitions for re-election.

Through your help, Congressman Mica has qualified for re-election by voter petition, saving our campaign more than $9,000. We also received a record number of donations, including 1655 new contributors, bringing our total campaign contributors to more than 8000.

So far this year, the Mica campaign has received $179,000 in individual contributions, bringing our total campaign account to $816,000.

7th District Voter Statistics 

Since congressional redistricting in 2002, Republican voter registration has grown from 165,532  to 203,698 electors.  The 39,256 new GOP voters increased the District’s Republican voter margin from 3.8% in 2002 to a 6.2% GOP lead in 2008.
